In this card, you can see a prepared athlete, under the sun, next to a lion and with the symbol of Jupiter on his chest. Pure confidence and empowered action.
This card is, basically, the representation of the winning spirit, the spirit of victory.
This card invites us to do several things. First: to celebrate our victories. To not take them for granted, as a given, and to stop focusing our attention only on the problems. And this is very important: victories are key, and celebrating them raises our energy and our confidence.
On the other hand, this card reminds us of the nature of this journey, of life. Life isn’t pleasant and comfortable. We didn’t come here to survive in comfort until we die. It doesn’t make much sense, right? The purpose of our life, in general terms, is the expansion of consciousness, the awakening, the development and elevation of our soul. Life is something intense and wild— look at nature, the storms, the cosmic events. In this card, the athlete prepares for that, to be able to embrace the intensity of life. And it’s a great training that requires fire and power.
And in third place, and this is the key: the winner’s spirit isn’t about always winning externally. It’s about winning totally over our weakness, our attachments, doubts, and fears. So that not even the most terrible of failures can bend our will. So that we get up just as fast as we fell and get back in the race.
And what happens when we fall a thousand times and get up another thousand? We win.
Invocations from the Journey
“Oh Great Divine Spirit, Spirit of Truth, Spirit of Love, and Spirit of this Place. Powerful spirits of nature, of the jungle, of the mountain, of the sky: I call you and I ask you, come to us in this journey. Help us, guide us to open our hearts… Help us to transform the pain and the tension into vitality and creativity. If there is some obstacle in our life, Spirit, I will ask you: guide us to the root so we can understand it, so we can take it out. Let it be your will, now and forever. Amen.”
“Spirit of the Winner, Spirit of Jupiter, I will ask you: I want to walk with confidence, solid, rock-solid confidence toward my goal. I want to feel the victory even before I arrive there. I want to walk with you, Spirit, to remove the doubt, the worries, the negative emotions that are stopping me… Spirit of Fire, Spirit of Leo, please help us to awaken our power.”
“The Spirit says: This place where you want to go, you will have to go eventually by yourself. Because it’s a unique place… We need to be able to stand in our energy and to go there. Maybe not everyone will understand. Maybe not everyone will follow. For that, we need the fire. To stand in our power and not succumb to judgment or criticism.”
“The Spirit says: Every time we complain and we see the source of our suffering and our problems outside ourselves, we are giving away our energy, our power.”
